GIGS

So here's another post for Mike, our follower. (woo!)

For those that don't know, we have a new guitarist called Omar. Even though he looks a bit funny (despite his name he's white btw) he's an awesome guitarist, and who are we to question ability based on appearence eh? He's bringing some fresh sounds to the table and has woke us up a bit here.

We played with Hang The Bastard about a week ago in Milton Keynes, it was Omar's first show and it was a really tight, really loud, and really fun show to play.

We've got a couple of shows coming up over the next couple of months. Be sure to check them out:

20th June - Eden Center Bowling Alley - High Wycombe [w/ Grindhouse / Golden Tanks]
25th June - The Star - Guildford [w/ Ikari]
27th June - Railway Club - Watford [w/ TRC / Prowler / 50 Caliber / Kansas City Shuffle / Running Low]
2nd July - Sno! Bar - Milton Keynes [w/ Lower Than Atlantis / Legions]
3rd July - Luton Youth Festival - Luton
9th July - The Matrix Club - Grimsby [w/ The Departed / The River Card]
12th August - The Scream Lounge - Croydon [w/Golden Tanks]

Our new shirts will be available at them or you can them from www.radiatingeyes.bigcartel.com

if you want T-shirts like these go to Vinosangre

Just some Rad Stuff to say.

So recently although we havn't been playing a lot I've been going to a lot of shows and they've been completely sick.
In the easter holidays I went to see the AFI show in Brixton with my girlfriend. Hardcore isn't her thing, so I figured this would be one that we'd potentially both enjoy. 'The Dear and the Departed' opened it, they we're alrite but a bit boring I thought. Lauren liked them though, they sound a bit like the killers but with a bit more punk in there, i guess thats just american rock n roll though.
Sick Of It all were brilliant, there was mo$h for them which I quite enjoyed, especially Scratch the Surface, epic. Then needless to say AFI put on a wicked show and although I'm not too fussed about the newer stuff on record, they pull it off well live so I think I might give it a few more spins, just to see what happens. They blended it in well with the Sing The Sorrow stuff, which is moroless retro for them now apparently... the good showman that is Davey Havoc was throwing his mic about, and erm... broke it. Nobber.
Then the next show I went to ( I think) musta been Cancer Bats/Trash Talk/ChickenHawk with Dazz. It. was. ACE. chickenhawk are a good band technically, but perhaps I just don't get them, maybe I haven't listened to them enough. Trash Talk killed it, then the venue called the police on them. still a sweeeeeet show though, cos if theres any kind of music where its okay to play a 15 minute set its the kind Trash Talk play, cos you can still fit in about 15 songs.
Cancer Bats, being one of my favourite bands right now, were the one I was looking forward to the most. It was pretty explosive. Sorceress was dope, Deaths March was dope, Liam Cormier is a babe.
Then the next week was back at school.... mega boring.
23rd April is st. Georges day so you can always rely on a good ol' patriotic OI gig... which I was skeptical of but to my ears I heard no racism. To sum up the gig, there was me, some 40 year old skinheads. and their kids.....
......I know. But Tendons are a good band so it was pretty worth it.

Then 24th April was a show I put on... C Is For City came from like, Reigate to open the show. It was their first show so that was pretty rad. I felt quite bad that nobody was there, theres no scene in bedford for hardcore so I don't know why I do it. they kicked it though, im looking forward to seeing them again.
We played 2nd, kicked up some fuss. Envyfours crowd was there so hopefully we entertained them a bit. Envyfour came and did there thing for half an hour and then cos them and their friends are all pretty much 15/16 but look 14 the bouncer came and chucked 'em out. good old tim.... what a twat. I couldn't really do anything about it, he did the same to us and our mates when we were that age, and the same to the dilenQuents. and doubtless he'll do the same further down the line.
Onwards and upwards, Set Apart came down and did there thing. I liked it, standard fast and then steppy hardcore a good listen and doubtlessly in a better venue with a better crowd would get things kicking off. Wolfbeast Destroyer played there crust/heavyasfuck/d-beat and I reckon were the best band of the day. besides 1000 Hertz who put on an awesome show,, check em out cos they're giving away their album for free.

Oh yeah, will hopefully be getting some t-shirts printed by Vinosangre, and designed by Jason dilenQuent. They'll turn out pretty rad me thinks....

THATS ALL NOW BYE!

April

Here at Radiating Eyes HQ (an overblown metaphor if ever there was one) things have been running slow. The easter holidays planned gigs, 8/9/10th have been cancelled because Jack's in Germany, the opportunities to play with Don Broco in Bedford on the 2nd and Lower Than Atlantis on the 4th had to be turned away due to Charlie being in France.
It works well that when Charlie returned on the 6th and Jack left on the 7th there was no room that week to even rehearse. let alone plan to play a show. Ben's busy the next week too with other commitments and so there's no chance of a gig then either.

On the bright side 3/4 of us are going to see Cancer Bats and Trash Talk on the 16th so that's going to be awesome.
Dazz has done himself proud with our new myspace layout, which looks pretty awesome. you can check it out on there.
The artwork is by Jason from Dazz's other band the dilenQuents, he saw it the other night and was like "I want!" so he tells me.
If you like what you see then Dazz does do design for a few quid, so if you want get in touch with him at Breaking Bones design.

As well as this we've got our Demo up for free download on our mate Boz's Nihilism Or Perpose label. If you like to Get Rad and Party Hard then its pretty much the two songs we've had on our myspace since mid 2009.

It looks like we've accidently booked a weekender for the end of June, which is great as its after all the exams and stuff.
If it goes to plan then it will be:

25 Jun 201020:00
The Star [w/ Ikari]Guildford
26 Jun 201020:00
Rios Birthday [w/ Set Apart]TBC
27 Jun 201020:00
Stags Rugby Club [w/TRC]Hemel Hempstead

So essentially, thats it.
Here's all the links to things more important than others which I mentioned in this blog.

We are Radiating Eyes...

Looking back we have a whole lot of history, but not much of it matters now. What matters most is our future plans. 2009 has been a rollercoaster ride of a year with its up and downs, but after finally finding our feet after replacing our bassist and giving our style a complete make-over, we’re sorted for 2010. Thanks to all of you who have supported us and made the end of 2009 as successful as it’s been. We will be releasing our mini album GRAVELINES early 2010. We’re gonna put everything we have into this record and hope as many of you will enjoy our tunes. We plan to gig relentlessly throughout 2010 and make this our year!
